For a lot of PoE players, 3.28 feels like the sort of update that could eat an entire weekend without you even noticing. Mirage drops on March 6, 2026, and the main hook is easy to see right away. You clear out Afarud Necromancers in your map, rescue a Djinn, then follow Varashta into the Astral Realm. Before that, plenty of players will already be planning how to purchase Path of Exile 1 currency so they can roll better maps and push the mechanic harder from day one. The Realm itself mirrors the map you were just running, only now everything feels more dangerous and more rewarding. You break the chains by killing monsters, and the whole thing has that classic PoE tension where one good decision can snowball into a huge run.

The Wish system changes the pace
The part people will talk about a lot is the Wish choice. You get 1 of 3 options before going in, and that single pick can shape the whole encounter. Some Wishes lean into loot. Others give your build more punch, more speed, more room to be reckless. That sounds simple, but in practice it could make each map feel a bit less routine. You're not just entering another side zone. You're weighing risk, map juice, and what your character can actually handle. Since Mirage carries over your map mods, scarabs, and other mechanics, it doesn't play like a separate activity. It feels stitched into the core game, which is why so many players are already eyeing farming strategies.

A new Scion option with real build variety
The Reliquarian Ascendancy might end up being the feature that changes build planning the most. Instead of just getting another standard power package, Scion can pull standout effects from Unique items across 3 slots: weapon, armour, and jewellery. That opens up some weird ideas in the best way. You can chase an effect you love without being locked into wearing the actual item, and that gives theorycrafters loads to mess with. The rotating pool each league is smart too. It should stop the whole thing from going stale too fast, and it means people won't solve it forever in the first week. If you enjoy testing odd interactions, this is the kind of design that keeps you up late in Path of Building.

Atlas changes that actually matter
There's also a lot going on beyond the league mechanic. Keepers of the Flame going core with new notables gives Atlas progression a fresh angle, while Harbinger stepping out of the core game is the sort of change that'll split opinion right away. Some players won't miss it. Others probably will. Add in 13 new Uniques and buffs to Guardian content, and the endgame starts to look a lot less familiar than it did a few leagues ago. That's probably a good thing. PoE is usually at its best when your old habits stop working and you've got to rethink what's worth farming.

Why players are already preparing
What makes Mirage especially exciting is that it seems built for both casual mappers and full-on grinders. If you've only got a few hours at night, you still want your maps to feel worth it. If you're racing economy from league start, every shortcut matters. That's why some players look to U4GM for quick access to currency, item trading support, and fast delivery across PC or console, especially when the goal is to get back into maps instead of spending all evening scraping together enough Chaos or Divines for the next upgrade. With a league this loaded, a smoother start can make a big difference
